The Obituary

Hah- I pressured you all into visiting my blog some 600 times. Awesome. Or maybe I have a stalker that checked 3 times a day. Either way, I feel cool.

In memory of the blog, here's more information than you would ever want about my hit statistics. Not that you all care, but it is interesting to see what happens when you leave a page primarily unattended on the web.

The page has had 90 unique visitors. Which means I had a whole lot of people visiting every once and a while.

Here's a list of the searches that led people to go to my weblog:

Name related:
andrew howe(9), andrew howe ca, andrew howe uk, andrew howe weblog, drew is weird, drew howe blog, andrew howe uk, drew howe

Sodexho Related:
sodexho complaint, sodexho sucks

Pepsi Related:
free pepsi, pesi-cola official web-site

Stuff Related to things I did:
painting his nails, growing a goatee, painted his nails, his nails painted, fire drill suck, dorm fire drill, painted nails site:mac.com (it looks like someone was trying to find the famous dinosaur pic!!!)

WTF?:
dorms suck(3), uk dorms suck, bragging for attention, building whistles, is a complaint

17 visitors came from my brother's blog link. 32 came from google.

I got one visitor was identifiable as from each country: Italy, Switzerland, the UK and Canada. Two people ran into my page looking for a page in italian, and one looking for a page in french. No one was looking for spanglish :(.

Now for the graphs:

This is a great operating system graph to see. If only the world were so beautifully diverse. *cries*. Even some people in the "other" category! Okay, that's enough, I think. Time to pack up my computer.

PUDDING POPS ARE BACK!

Let it be known to the world: PUDDING POPS ARE BACK! Yes, Indeed, Jell-O Pudding Pops are now becoming available under the Popsicle brand. This is a wonderful thing. I have been trying HARD to find where they are in my area, and I found out that Breyers, the parent company of Popsicle now allows you to search for products based on your zip code. So here's the search site:
http://www.breyers.com/locator/
Go find them! Eat them! Enjoy!

Yes, I know I'm obsessed. Actually I'm putting this in now so that people can search for it on google- it too me an hour to find this info.

Oh yeah, I'm visiting Spokane soon!!! Woohoo!

Hired!

Thanks to being employed with a temp agency, Drew is now ready to put in some hours at Skywalker SoundѢ. That's right, Lucas Digital LTD is having someone pay me to work for them. What am I doing? Why inventory, of course. Though so far my official title is "slave" to Tim McGovern, the head of engineering there. Not sure how much work will be there, or how long it will last, but indeed I am employed, and will be working for the single most successful and well-known audio company in the world. Now we'll just see how long I last. Want to hire Drew? You're perfectly welcome to send possible employment my way- please no food service. Know of a place that could use a weird techy like me? Let me know! I need hours!

Birthday

Having reached the age of 1.9x10^1, I've got a whole lot of really cool stuff.... This is the second recording session Jars of Clay ever did- second only to their first demo "Frail". Frail can't be found, and Drummer Boy can't really be found either...

Having reached the age of 1.9x10^1, I've got a whole lot of really cool stuff.
First of all, and possibly the most shocking, I have Drummer Boy. This is the second recording session Jars of Clay ever did- second only to their first demo "Frail". Frail can't be found, and Drummer Boy can't really be found either... but somehow Stacie managed to. So I have it now.

Along with that, I've got a cool rug mouse pad, and have just put in the order for Mac OS X Panther.
pretty box, huh? I thought so too. I'm hoping what's inside is just as good, too.

Stacie did a really amazing thing... she somehow managed to contact just about everyone I know and have them sign a banner, including my extended family (well, my mom helped), people at school, and old friends. Time to change the email password, eh? :-P. I'd say that's the boldest gesture I've seen a single person carry out on my birthday, and it made me feel all warm and special. So thanks everyone who contributed to that... you're cool. I'll have a photo of the banner up as soon as I have time to set it all up again. That's all for now.

I'm baack

Well, after a weekend with Brian & Becky (and the cutest kid in the world, Elena), I'm back at school. What's next? Some 20 pages of writing, and 5 finals. All before May 3. Here are some pictures from the weekend, though...

(that's supposed to show the whole capitol building... but it got cut off)

Pretty nice dome. Now if only we could fill it with some smart people...

As previously mentioned, the cutest kid in the world.

Photos

So... I haven't had a lot of time to update the blog, but here's some photos to prove that I haven't been wasting all of my time studying (not that there was any doubt)

Outside the philly art museum

Also outside the museum

Outside of the museum from inside the museum

Myself and Stacie outside of the museum

The bug I found in my salad bowl after eating from it.

Front Row

We were in the front. No, not near the front, the front. They (Dan the lead singer and Matt the guitarist) shook my hand. Dan thanked me (for what I know not). The set was awesome. The Mint (a new local favorite of mine who I've seen twice now) opened. The promoters were confiscating cameras, and I managed to get digital photos out. So here, since they harassed Stacie for using a camera they previously said was okay, are some photos of Jars of Clay for your marginally legal enjoyment. Oh, and one of the mint. And no, my camera does not have any zoom on it, I was just really that close.

Sorry about the color- it's indoor stage lights at very low power (they didn't pay for big lighting)
And now The Mint:
They're cool too. So that's my concert update. Want to know more? Email me.

I just wanted an excuse to show off the photo. It's good to be back (and it was good to go home, too!)

SPRING BREAK!

Drew's off to California for Spring break, far far away from his best friend... er... computer- so that means it'll be quite a while before you hear from him again. Of course, you could call me or email me like you should have in the first place, couldn't you?

Normal

Along with escaping the grasp of the T-Rex (sorry I forgot to mention that part), Drew now has normal nails- so you all have nothing to worry about now. For a while, anyways.

SEEING JARS

DREW IS SEEING JARS OF CLAY NEXT MONTH!!! It's been THREE YEARS since he did last time. It's going to be AWESOME! It's in a small standing-room-only place in philly- same place I saw Switchfoot last semester. It's going to be great. It would be very hard to make Drew happier. Check in after March 18 for pictures... hopefully even better than Newsboys (I'll be closer).

I'm going home!

Thanks to the great ability for money to be moved around at great velocities and for nice grandparents, I'm going home for spring break! Woo! Let's hear it for jet lag! It'll be good to get in some sleep time, and down some Zach's pizza and such. So yay for Drew! If you're one of my bay area people, you should call my cell after 6 so we can do stuff. That'd be cool. Yes, all of you.

Free Pepsi

Ever had a bottle of soda that wouldn't open? Or one that looked slightly off? Or ever felt slightly like cheating a large corporation? Well Drew tried to open a bottle of pepsi last week, and it wouldn't go. He ended up having to use channel clamps (for all you non-tool-literate people, a kind of pliers) to open the bottle. So Drew called pepsi and told them, and they acted like it was a *serious* problem, and sent him a coupon for up to $3.50 on any pepsi product. Sure, a kid in the production plant probably got 30 lashes for it, but Drew got free stuff! Go Drew! You should do it too- they like to give free stuff to the people who are proactive enough to actually call. Here's what they said to me:
Dear Mr. Howe:

Thank you for taking the time to contact us and for letting us know about the problem you had with one of our packages. Please accept our apologies for the inconvenience this caused.

The quality of our packaging is important to us, and the information you provided will be helpful in identifying and correcting any possible problems. Please be assured that we take such incidents seriously and will follow up with the production facility responsible for filling and distributing this package. Consumers have come to expect high quality soft drinks and containers from Pesi-Cola, and anything less is unacceptable to us.

Again we would like to thank you for the information you provided for enabling us to conduct a thorough
quality assurance check. Please enjoy the enclosed replacement coupon along with our thanks for bringing
this matter to our attention

Sincerely,
Mike Miltana
Senior Consumer Relations Representative

Yep, they're going to enjoy beating that unruly employee. It warms Drew's heart. Now, do you think Drew could get the state of CA to apologize like this for not counting his vote? Probably not.
